About Finding the Bard

Welcome to Finding the Bard!

Who: Two people. A literary enthusiast, and one long-dead poet-playwright. Thirty-eight plays.

What: In honor of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death in 2016, I blogged my experience as I read all of the Bard’s plays. You can see those posts on my Playlist here. Now that I’ve worked my way through all of his plays, I still write about Shakespeare. Shakespeare news, analysis, and anything else related to the man from Stratford-on-Avon.

Why: I have loved Shakespeare since I was first introduced to him as a fifth grader, but there were still a number of his plays I had never read and/or seen. I came up with the idea to do this project as a way to not only encourage myself to complete all of his works, but to try and figure out for myself why the Bard is still studied and considered relevant, now approaching the 400th anniversary of his death. For more on the why of this project, see this Tumblr post and this one.

If you have a question about Shakespeare, you can submit it on Tumblr here, leave a comment, or contact me on Twitter.
